The most important event of the penultimate day of the Polish Transatlantyk Festival 2013 was the grand Closing Gala, held in the Concert Hall of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. Jan AP Kaczmarek hosted the entire event with the openness and charm, so typical for him.

The culmination of the evening was the presentation of YOKO ONO with the most important award of the Festival, the TRANSATLANTYK Glocal HERO AWARD.

During the eulogy, Jan AP Kaczmarek emphasized that she was an outstanding and unique artist who had been constantly working for decades towards peace and understanding among people all over the world. Before Yoko Ono entered the stage, guests watched a short documentary on her life and work.

Accepting the award from the hands of Ryszard Grobelny, the artist pleasantly surprised the audience by recalling the history of Poznan, the city that once was the capital of Poland. She also confessed that she felt the strength of this city and its ancestors and that she loved both Poznan and our entire country.
