HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Dear Friends

I would like to give an accolade to our mothers who passed away, without being acknowledged of the beautiful thing they did. They could have died trying to give birth to us. Giving birth was a very serious, uncomfortable, and dangerous matter. But nobody told our mothers that. She was constantly criticized. Feminists looked at them and said “she’s just a mother.” The man in her life felt that she should do more to keep her looks and take care of her man first, not the kids. The society was upset that she should do a better job to bring up a solid citizen. Her kids thought, their father was the one that mattered and counted. She lost all her friends to spend her time with her kids and talking baby talk all day – goo goo, dada, dada. She felt that she was a second citizen. And most importantly, she felt that she was “not a good mother.”

Happy Mother’s Day, Mothers! I understand the injustice you suffered, I understand your loneliness. Because now I have been a mother, myself. Without you, we would not be. Without you and me, the human race would not be here now. Is that bad? Maybe not. But this is what we have. Together, we have a sweet time on earth planet. It maybe a very small time, but a beautiful time, which again, we have been enjoying without thanking you when you were here.

Mothers, sleep well. Now you can. And thank you. Whatever you did, you did your best.

love,

MY MOMMY IS BEAUTIFUL

MY MOMMY IS BEAUTIFUL is a tribute to all Mothers of the World from each of your children; a celebration of the love that nurtures us all.
This Mother’s Day, upload your mother’s photo to FacebookFlickr, or tag an Instagram or tweet with #mmib.
Write her name, a note about her, to her and to yourself. If it gets to be a love letter, a poem or a very long message or as long as a novel (!) that’s fine.
Make sure to squeeze her with big hugs and kisses in your mind and send it with a sprinkle of i ii iii

love, yoko
