Dear Yoko, What was it like performing occasionally w/ Fluxus and what do you think of the movement and Maciunas in retrospect?
George Maciunas was a very intelligent and creative guy. He was a strong supporter of my performances as well. I’ve done a lot of performances which were considered Fluxus.

For years, you were under a great deal of personal attacks. How did you stay focused on the positive thoughts & peace?
I was just into my love for my work, my love for my family, and my love for the world, and the work to change it for the better.

Describe your favorite photograph in your home and why is it your favorite?
I have various photographs of my husband, my son, my daughter and her family on the side of my computer, on the piano and on the bedside table. I feel strongly that they are speaking to me while I work on the computer, play the piano and dream in my sleep – even when I don’t look at them!

What was your dream? And what is your dream?
My dream is for the world to start to realize how important goodness is. Because we are goodness. We are messed up because we think we are evil. And should be good at that game. It doesn’t work. The real side of us starts to feel bad and mess us up!

The news is bad because it is boring to report “Today, Jack gave his mother a big kiss!”

I support the veterans who have returned to the US and are trying to recover from the trauma they went through. They need our understanding, love, and support.

What would be your best advice to a young artist who wants to make a living with her art ?!
Art is what you give to people. In giving, you should not be concerned if you can make a living at it or not. Your work will suffer in it’s creativity if you are thinking of making something that will sell. Do the best work you can do, and see what happens.

You should have a job to make a living while you create your artwork.

What do you think about Japan’s whaling and dolphin hunting?
Just as bad as many atrocities being conducted by other countries, including  the USA. Why is it better to accuse others than look into what we are doing? Easier?

I wanted all of us to be more open to being human. I still think the same….but this time around, it may not be necessary to bare our bottoms for it!
