did you see anything of my hometown Krems when you visited the Kunsthalle there?
I breathed the beautiful air, and drank good water. You guys look healthy and joyful. In the world of pollution, you guys are very lucky people.

When faced w choice between your creative dream path+a practical path of less resistance how 2decide which path 2take?
My creative dream stands with no resistance.

dear Yoko, think you that there is something more precious than a smile?
A smile brings health and love to you. Tell me if there is anything more precious than that. :)

What do you think is the most powerful divider/disruptor amongst the human race & what could be done to overcome it?
We are all dividers and disruptors of our lives from the very fact that we exist. Accept it, be humbled by it, but not feel guilty, starting with the division of cells which makes us grow.

Erin ‏ @E_B_W_
How can I instill peace in my two officemates who have opposing opinions on the use of speakerphone?
Learn from the two ways suggested by the two, and present the third way which negates both their ways. See what happens.

What do you this about this. Is art a fluidity between the heart, mind, body and soul, a true connection of collective composition. Of balance and tranquility?
Art is indeed a fluidity between the heart, mind, body and soul, and gives balance and tranquility because of it.

What is the answer to this question I have asked myself daily thru the decades since that night in Paris: “Am I here?”
All of us are here as long as we can question it.

Dear Yoko, I’ve had anorexia for 7 years and I’m struggling to recover. Do you have any advice?
Find something other than eating or not eating that you wish to do and concentrate your effort on that…. what about running?

Eri Yoneda ‏ @EriYoneda
Dear Yoko, what would you do when you feel so sad that you just can’t stop tearing?

Hi Yoko… I love the song “Who has Seen the Wind.” Any chance you will be doing any live shows? I would love to see you in Montreal.
I love Montreal and go there whenever there is a chance.. you mean, you don’t know about it?!

Nick Hart
I think that “Hard Times Are Over” and “Let Me Count The Ways” are two hauntingly beautiful pieces of music. How easy is it for you to compose melodies like these and how much did John input?
I am the kind of composer who gets musical inspiration as well as lyrical. Not that some of the music is so incredible. But they are 100 percent me.

Laura Corriveau Dempsey
Yoko, When you write music do you meditate? Do you ever think about all the elements like air, earth, fire and water and how they can improve your creativity? And one last thing…what’s your take on the “Tree of Life?” Lots of love and keep making your beautiful music.
The Tree of Life gives incredible inspiration. I don’t particularly meditate or think of all the natural elements when I write songs. Songs come so easily to me, I don’t have to rely on anything except my head and/or my heart.

Yvonne Charisse
how do you keep yourself so inspired? you always seem to be so happy and optimistic. more power to you, Yoko-san! :D
I always feel inspired.

Sue Witty
In your opinion, what is the meaning of Life?
I don’t question the meaning of life. I just go, go.

Hey beautiful. It was SO much fun in OKC over NYE and NYrs day W/theLips. I am wondering if you realize the impact your integrity and presence has on the audience when you perform? I really was blown away by Your set. Granted, it was a magical evening(s), There was something about your presence that had power to it and wisdom. It was like you were doing tai chi for me. And of coarse the band was amazing.Sean is incredible at everything, and so was everyone. And I would imagine every time you perform it is completely different and new. I guess my question was more of a statement. You are an inspiring performer and I would Love to have your latest songs on vinyl. So here is my question: where can I order your records?
I haven’t made the next one yet. When it’s made, you will know.
Music links: Chimera Music Store, iTunes, Amazon.

Happy International Woman’s Day! One of my favorite songs from Approximately Infinite Universe is “I Have a Woman Inside My Soul.” I have loved this song for decades now. It speaks to me very deeply as a song about the power of vulnerability (of affect or feeling) that we all share, whether we are outwardly “gendered” as male or female. Do you have any memories of working on this song or thoughts to share with us about it?
In the middle of the night in the studio – I was inspired

Ruth Addams
Thank you for being you, and also for allowing us into a corner of your life. I have great admiration for your strength.
I am not a very strong person. I just do what I have to do when I have to.

Joseph Martin john is a light that will never go out for all you need is love will continue to feed this light
he was a poet, songwriter, composer, a father, a champion for peace but most of all he was just a man. unlike paul m. he could feel and write a…bout pain and longing and reach the depths of dispair and somehow it was beautiful Help i need somebody, so i sing a song of love for julia, mother you had me but i never had you, women you understand the little child inside a man, i was dreaming in the past and my heart was beating fast, if you want money for people with minds that hate all i can tell you brother you’ll have to wait, war is over if you want it, no need for greed or hungar a brotherhood of man,but most of all IN MY LIFE I LOVE YOU MORE
happy birthday john you are loved and i and millions more will miss you

  5. Felipe says:

Yoko, your message is beautiful and we still believe in Peace.

Here in South America we fight everyday for our beliefs, our ideals, our peace motives and for the beauty of life.

Sometimes is very hard to swim against the currents, against over consumption, against the media, against the powerful and their money.

But when i saw you and your willpower to keep screaming for peace and love for everyone, i feel alive now and i’ll keep yelling and working to build a better world for us all.

    Thank you Yoko. Mata ne!

    Felipe Nadeau.
