Michael Schafer
Hi Yoko! Does the new year feel any different than the last one?

I’m really feelling good. I think it will be better for all of us.

Gina Barker
Yoko, I lost my husband John in 1998. I move through each day. I suppose I appear OK to others, but I know I am not. I move purposefully through each day. Did you experience this when you lost John? Did it ever get better, or just different?

Not just that different, either. It’s hard when you lose somebody you loved so much. But we should keep our chins up and make every day more positive.

Terri Kern
Yoko, my mother lost my dad several years ago. She is depressed and sad, she says she cannot focus on reinventing herself as an individual versus a couple. Do you have any advice for her? She is the same age as you. Thank you!!!! xoxo

I did not reinvent myself. I just know now that we are still together. He is in the sky and I am on Earth.

Marla Cox-Williams
How can I be of assistance? I am a 68 year old widow. My husband died of brain cancer and unfortunately left me in debt. I live totally on SS but life is good. I want to help bring peace and enlightenment to the world. I have requested that IMAGINE be on my gravestone. This song says everything I believe. Thank you so much for helping bring awareness to the world. It’s funny because I live in California and have a friend who was in NYC yesterday and saw you at a sushi restaurant yesterday. I do love you and John. Thank you Thank you. Marla

Thank you for your positive message in your own way. But I didn’t know that I was in a sushi restaurant last night!

Dayvid Lee McClung
When you wake what makes you smile? What do you find most beautiful right now? Thank you for being you.

I find every day very beautiful.

Michael Edgar Zeh
Do you have a certain prayer or mantra or a specific action that you practice to help bring peace to our world?

I just know that all of us being ourselves is the best way to world peace.

Jonathan Jensen
What are your thoughts on clowns?

Clowning sometimes helps us forget the bitterness of life.

Lin Miyajima
Did you love it when some random folks in Paris played John’s song?

That was so tremendous, it made me cry.

Mary Hobson Moran
Is there any other career choice you think you would have made, if your life didn’t go the way it did?

I think I would have still pursue the creative work I am doing now. Only, it may have been a bit different.

Paula Beat
Dear Yoko, what do you want for your birthday?

Pesace and love. I am sure I will get that from my many friends. yoko

What is one piece of life advice that you think everyone should follow?

Don’t follow.

PROTECT ALL WILDLIFE ‏@Protect_Wldlife
Why do you think so many people treat wildlife badly ie trophy hunting, ivory & rhino horn, Taiji, killing contests etc?

To feel powerful.

RebRose ‏@rosehart12
Is there such thing as a ‘good’ person? Or is that just an illusion we like to hold people in?

The illusion we like to hold on to is to think that there are such things are bad people.

Felicia Marano ‏@cutelyobsessive
Hi Yoko! Can you like being alone too much?

No. it is good to be alone sometimes to recuperate yourself, which was melting in the melting pot.

Rosey Ashton ‏@ozgrrl
Hello Yoko, as a child, what influenced you to use your imagination, did you ever imagine yourself in the future?

Future of the space of nothingness. It excited me for being such.

Jiawen Yu ‏@JiawenYu
What do you think about aging? Are you afraid of it? (I am.)

I am annoyed that people regard me as an old person. At the same time, I am scared that people would think of me as a mad person for not knowing that I was old.

Chiara ‏@agent_it
Any tips for an aging female body? Everything hurts:(

You are hurting yourself. So you will know what is wrong in your body. Those places which hurt will stop hurting when you do something about it to heal.

Kelly Dobrovolski ‏@Be_loved_Freak
Was John a redhead? His hair was so red in pictures but I never see him described as such. peace and love

His mother was a genuine redhead, is what I was told. But John’s hair was light brown and sometimes redder. It depended on the condition of the hair, and the weather.

Alexandra Gekas ‏@AlGekas
What has been the most difficult thing you have had to come to terms with/find peace with about yourself?

To keep myself healthy body and mind.

Boo Atticus ‏@DSLZ82
What is some advice you would give to lead a life without stress or worry? Thank you.

Stress, worry and fear are what gives you the creativity you need in life. I would not dispense with them.

Joseph Martin john is a light that will never go out for all you need is love will continue to feed this light
he was a poet, songwriter, composer, a father, a champion for peace but most of all he was just a man. unlike paul m. he could feel and write a…bout pain and longing and reach the depths of dispair and somehow it was beautiful Help i need somebody, so i sing a song of love for julia, mother you had me but i never had you, women you understand the little child inside a man, i was dreaming in the past and my heart was beating fast, if you want money for people with minds that hate all i can tell you brother you’ll have to wait, war is over if you want it, no need for greed or hungar a brotherhood of man,but most of all IN MY LIFE I LOVE YOU MORE
happy birthday john you are loved and i and millions more will miss you

  5. Felipe says:

Yoko, your message is beautiful and we still believe in Peace.

Here in South America we fight everyday for our beliefs, our ideals, our peace motives and for the beauty of life.

Sometimes is very hard to swim against the currents, against over consumption, against the media, against the powerful and their money.

But when i saw you and your willpower to keep screaming for peace and love for everyone, i feel alive now and i’ll keep yelling and working to build a better world for us all.

    Thank you Yoko. Mata ne!

    Felipe Nadeau.
