How do you start your Morning?

With a cucumber or lemon juice!

David Liljemark
What did you dream last night?

Something so complicated, I forgot it as soon as I woke up.

Tristan Steele
What do you remember the most about recording Starpeace?

I had the feeling that it was a very important turn of my creativity. The most important songs in it came to me when I was at a grand tennis match watching great tennis players play. I kept saying “has anybody got a pencil?” Somebody kind gave me a pencil. I thought he was an angel told by the sky to give me the pencil!

Richard Roherty
What do you think of the music scene today and how does it compare to the 1970’s?

The music scene is always exciting. I don’t compare things. It’s a waste of time to compare. Better to enjoy the experience without comparison.

Kay Jones
What is the secret to a happy relationship?

To be thankful for whatever relationship we have. The most unpleasant relationship can be important as well. It can be a lesson.

Albert Murrian
My dream is to write funny books for a living. (No, that’s not a joke, but thanks for laughing.) I’m going back to school to study creative writing. I can’t decide if I’m making a good decision or a stupid one. English degrees are the butt of a lot of jokes these days. Most people think it’s smarter to get a degree in something that pays, but I want to study something that I’m passionate about. All I want is to be in a profession that makes me happy, and I think I’d be miserable as a doctor or a lawyer. Can you offer any advice or words of encouragement for this young artist?

Good for you!

Nic Dunstall
My question is: how do you stay so very positive when there is so much chaos in the world today?

It’s all a great experience you will never get when you are dead.

Cindy Sams
Do you have any pet peeves? Favorite pizza place in Manhattan? How many hats do you own? Have a great day Yoko!

I don’t eat pizza. I have so many hats it’s hard to keep track of them and I love them all!

Tim Durkan Photography
Hi Yoko! What do you think of photography as it compares with painting or drawing in terms of artistic expression. Do you have a favorite genre of photography or favorite photographer?

Photography has always been a great artform. I have some vintage photos by great photographers. I have collected them with the same attitude I collected some paintings – with love and passion.

Dan Onti
What can i say to Make you SMILE?

I’m already smililng reading your kind thought. Thank you! yoko

Do you like to cook? If yes, what types of things do you make? Thank you and have a great day!

I make cucumber juice or lemon juice the first thing in the morning. When I feel the need I follow it with tea or coffee with mixture of ginger, cayenne and milk. In the evening, I make a warm juice mixture of lemon, apple, ginger, and cayenne, or ginger, cayenne. (sometimes cinnamon) maple syrup and milk. I make three tall glasses of cucumber juice for the day and keep drinking it whenever I feel the need. Those are what I can make myself, even though I am too busy to make anything else myself otherwise. I eat all kinds of vegetables, nuts and sometimes egg white omelette or fish.. Eggs and fish no more give me pleasure because I think of factory raised chicken and fish in polluted water. I believe in freedom of eating what I desire at the time I desire. I naturally eat very little at a time because it is simply unpleasant to eat so it blocks my body and my thinking process. I want to keep myself light so I am always dancing!

Hannah Harvey ‏@hannahlharvey
Oh Yoko! Can you tell me how you felt in your 1964 Cut Piece performance? Was it as scary as it looked?! x

Yes, it was scary. But I was protected mentally to not fear. It was so amazing. A guy came up on the stage and thrust a knife at me. But I saw it like a movement in a dream.

Felicia Marano ‏@cutelyobsessive
Hi Yoko! Do you believe that your friends are a reflection of yourself?

They often say that, don’t they? Actually, they are not necessary a reflection of ourselves, but that is the only part we see in them. It’s our mind that is editing them to what they are to us.

BettyBlexrudStrigens ‏@blackshoestring
Love you, Yoko. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving, and if so, how?

Thanksgiving has been a very important celebration for our family. We spend the day with deep thanks of life and the joy we feel from it.

Craig Koskimaki ‏@CraigKoskimaki
Will you be performing in NYC around NYE?

I’ll be at home with my family and friends. One night of no performance! yoko

Rosie Abbott Music ‏@rosieJabbott
What is your favourite flavour soup?

All soups are great as long as they are made of natural ingredients and love.

ChaosControlDigizine ‏@chaoszine
What were your very first impressions of electronically created music, and how might have your views changed?

We are electronic energy ourselves. So all music we make is vibrating with our electronic energy.

ExtraordinaryWomenTV ‏@Shannon_Skinner
What is the key for all people around the world to have peace in their hearts?

To have love for themselves, and the world which is the extension thereof.

Ricky Garni ‏@rickygarni
What have you found to be the best way to deal with grief? Still suffering a violent, unexpectable loss of love.
Every life and its death I have been shown made me what I am now. I have learnt to love the preciousness of life through it.

Jordan Cullen ‏@JordCullen
What has been your most successful method for dealing with any racist abuse you’ve received over the years?

I’m afraid I have never thought of finding a successful method to combat racism. I quite often thought “wow! That was a big one!” when I’m hit with it, and moved on.

Mike Thomas ‏@mikethomas1959
Thank you for being so honest when answering our questions Yoko, you really make a difference.

Joseph Martin john is a light that will never go out for all you need is love will continue to feed this light
he was a poet, songwriter, composer, a father, a champion for peace but most of all he was just a man. unlike paul m. he could feel and write a…bout pain and longing and reach the depths of dispair and somehow it was beautiful Help i need somebody, so i sing a song of love for julia, mother you had me but i never had you, women you understand the little child inside a man, i was dreaming in the past and my heart was beating fast, if you want money for people with minds that hate all i can tell you brother you’ll have to wait, war is over if you want it, no need for greed or hungar a brotherhood of man,but most of all IN MY LIFE I LOVE YOU MORE
happy birthday john you are loved and i and millions more will miss you

  5. Felipe says:

Yoko, your message is beautiful and we still believe in Peace.

Here in South America we fight everyday for our beliefs, our ideals, our peace motives and for the beauty of life.

Sometimes is very hard to swim against the currents, against over consumption, against the media, against the powerful and their money.

But when i saw you and your willpower to keep screaming for peace and love for everyone, i feel alive now and i’ll keep yelling and working to build a better world for us all.

    Thank you Yoko. Mata ne!

    Felipe Nadeau.
