How are you?
I’m still breathing well.
Nathaniel Steeves @NSteeves
Hi Yoko ! I’m currently in NYC for the New Year.. will you be around to celebrate? Hope to hear from you!
I am celebrating in Oklahoma now, with Flaming Lips people. Thousands of comfy holes all over United States are filled with good souls celebrating the new year. I think it is going to be great! We’re going to make it great. It’s the year of celebration.
Lindsay Snoke @Xpunkrocker89X
What is your New Year’s resolution, Yoko? =)
I want to stay healthy and have fun.
Larissa Solano Lemus @larsollem
If you had a time machine, where would you like to go?:)
I will sell the time machine, and enjoy the now. And travel to a time I want without the help of a machine.
Melany Zwartjes @AMelany
Do you consider your twitter account (& the number of people you follow) to be an conceptual artwork? {I do}
It is a meeting place for the conceptualists.
SS @SS_NowPlaying
Can you describe what peace sounds like?
Fun.
Jon Butler @ButlerPhotos
I was in the front at Live for Peace in #Toronto 69. What were you experiencing at that first concert? Happy New Year
I tried to stay in the bag so I wouldn’t offend anybody. But John urged me to come out.
debe white @jeaniedeeb
What is the title of the chinese book you gave to john, mentioned in an old interview: “never have every door shut…?”
Great book called ‘Sangokushi’ by Chen Shou. ‘Record of The Three Kingdoms’ is the translation. But it just means ‘Three Kingdoms’ in China and it’s history, including their philosophy.
daniel calabrese @dcbreesly
What happened to the full page ad that you usually take out in the New York Times? I look forward to it every year.
It is in the January 1st issue. Look closely.
George Patiño @GeorgePatino2
What are your plans for 2012?
Hopefully, you will bump into some of them. There are lots, as the waves of the ocean!
Stephen Finsel @DrummitSteve
What is the most important project that you want to do?
To be alive, and keep loving.
Rudy Rodriguez Jr
What is your favorite New Years Eve memory?
Every year of the ones we spent in our apartment in Dakota. We would watch the TV and when the ball fell in Times Square, John carried Sean and all three of us went to our living room called the SKY (another word for it was and is the WHITE ROOM) and John would show Sean the fireworks start in Central Park exactly on midnight. All three of us watched the fireworks until it was over. I remember the faces of both guys shining intently, mesmerized by the fireworks.

Do you believe humanity will ever fully embrace peace? We love to talk about especially around this time of year here but I think people in general are too driven by self preservation to ever be able to build a large enough consensus for peace..I dream of a day when we love each other but I don’t see at least not in my lifetime…to much evolution necessary to get there and too many with too many base needs to drive us there…
You said it: “self preservation”. It is not the time to be pondering. This is the time. If we don’t reach out to others and care for them with love now, and be part of a wide group of people who are working to better our world, you will be totally isolated, surrounded by angry people. What a scary life. To self preserve, you will have to think and create good connections with a wider family of courage and goodness – like the family of peace of your state, your country, and then the world. And it has to start with you. Tell us on Facebook & Twitter – what are you doing to “self preserve”?

Yoko what artistic projects are you working on? Are you doing any personal drawings?
I am doing less of my personal drawings only because I am busy making my installations in several museums now for 2012/13… Lucky girl!

Sorry I’ll miss Sean and yourself tomorrow in OKC. I hope you will get 2 see Wayne Coyne’s wonderful home on your visit. Basketsful of Love, Cyn Burton
Well, I didn’t know that Wayne had a wonderful home. Thanks for the information!
Julio Cesar Magalhaes
considering the high intensity of your vocal performance thru more than 30 years, i would like to know what kind of special care you take to keep your voice in good shape?
I had been trained to sing opera in my teens. So that basic training is still there, probably. I did learn a few tricks then.
Barbara Burnett
Yoko, I seem to bruise emotionally with each painfull life experience. I believe that I will have thicker skin, but people still have a way of making me sad with their fears and hates. Have you always been brave or do you have a brave exterior? Please share some of your secrets on how you get thru life and past it.How do you find your happy place?
I am not particuarly brave person. But what you see of me – surviving against all odds is not just a brave exterior. Think of a mouse that roars. Well, that’s me. In such a hard world, we have to learn to stand and roar together. But wait. Roaring against the cats with weapons. Well, that is not advisable. We should do it another way… be wise.
Frank List
Yoko, thank you for all your fine work at Mendips. It’s just lovely, and such a fine tribute to John.
I truly think John was helping me with these projects in spirit. Why not?
Zack Dull
I wanna know, are you going to put out another cd like “Acoustic”? I love all of the home demos with acoustic guitars. It’s my favorite cd. I would like another cd like it or a limited edition vinyl pressing would be better.
I am not just trying to dish out something that there is of John’s. To make that acoustic CD, I put together the top selections. I don’t want to make a sequel just because this one was a success. John would not like that, either. I put out the acoustic CD to 1) introduce John to the young ones who are not familiar with John’s work, 2) to enlighten other guitarists & 3) to make John proud.
Kinga Bartoszek
Did You talk with John about Stuart Sutcliffe? What do you think about his works?
John had a lot of respect for Stuart. So he often spoke to me about Stuart as having been a good painter and a good friend.
Zeynep Erol
I just want to say Happy new year, with your son, with your friends, with your fans, with limitless love, peace, health and happiness. I wish some day you’ll get what you always fight for: WORLD PEACE
♥ “Peace at home, peace in the world” Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK
Well, we are working on it, you included. And I think we are close to WORLD PEACE as ever before. I hope you agree.
Jack Gold-Molina
I think it is great that you are doing this. Thank you for making yourself available to talk to people. Happy Holidays!
Thank you for your encouragement.

YOKO, THIS MAN Jacque Fresco’s, HAS DEDICATIED HIS WHOLE LIFE TO A NEW WORLD FOR US TO LIVE IN PEACE, BUT NO ONE IN THE USA WILL LISTEN OR LOOK AT HIS ART AND DREAMS CAUSE OF HIS EDUCATION.” IMAGINE” IS WHAT HE IS ALL ABOUT AND HOPEFULLY WITH YOUR HELP SOMEONE WILL LISTEN TO HIS WONDERFUL AND AMAZING IDEAS! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK OVER HIS WEBSITE AND YOU WILL SEE WHY I FEEL THIS MAN JUST WANTS TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE, JUST AS YOU AND I DO. I LOVE YOU FOR LOVING ALL OF US, AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR ALL THAT YOU AND JOHN DO TO SEARCH FOR PEACE FOR ALL OF US!
Thank you so much for answering my question Yoko
Joseph Martin john is a light that will never go out for all you need is love will continue to feed this light
he was a poet, songwriter, composer, a father, a champion for peace but most of all he was just a man. unlike paul m. he could feel and write a…bout pain and longing and reach the depths of dispair and somehow it was beautiful Help i need somebody, so i sing a song of love for julia, mother you had me but i never had you, women you understand the little child inside a man, i was dreaming in the past and my heart was beating fast, if you want money for people with minds that hate all i can tell you brother you’ll have to wait, war is over if you want it, no need for greed or hungar a brotherhood of man,but most of all IN MY LIFE I LOVE YOU MORE
happy birthday john you are loved and i and millions more will miss you
Yoko, your message is beautiful and we still believe in Peace.
Here in South America we fight everyday for our beliefs, our ideals, our peace motives and for the beauty of life.
Sometimes is very hard to swim against the currents, against over consumption, against the media, against the powerful and their money.
But when i saw you and your willpower to keep screaming for peace and love for everyone, i feel alive now and i’ll keep yelling and working to build a better world for us all.
Thank you Yoko. Mata ne!
Felipe Nadeau.
i need your help!…i’m in a big emotional crisis and i don’t think i’m handling too well….
[...] I relation till händelsen med Gloria Emerson är det intressant att läsa Yoko Onos svar på en fråga från RMG_Design på twitter om vad hon tror om de ständigt växande sociala mediernas roll i att skapa ”worldpeace and harmony”. Yoko svarar: [...]
Hello Yoko, thank you for being available. I was at MoMA this past weekend…I screamed and made a wish. Thanks for bringing me full circle…and thank you for your he(art). I will be thinking of you and John tomorrow. Xo jen
Hi Jen! It’s nice that you participated in the scream piece and screamed. Your scream joined all the other screams of that piece performed in MOMA, and is sending out a strong vibration and making a strong statement to the world. love, yoko
Many years ago in NY you and John did a TV show on channel 13 which I attended. I have never heard anything relating to this show. Could you please let me know why.
Love and God Bless
That show still exists as a video and is played once in awhile by the TV station.
My next cd with my poems / music will be dedicated to you and John. This because of the good vibes you’re givin’ to the world. More than thanks, and with lovin’ greetings from The Netherlands,
Jos Witteman
Once again thank you very much for taking the time to answer the questions your much appreciated n loved..cheers, thanks.

HI Yoko,
I am doing a write up on Cut Piece. I was wondering what is a message or representation you were trying to say with this piece?
Thanks,
Kallie
There are many layers of statements in that piece. It is not just one. yoko
Thank you for the answers that you shared to me especially about questions related when you were expecting a baby with John.. One of my favorites is you are craving meat and cabbage and about morning sickness.. hope if you don’t mind I could post some questions that was bugging in my head. it is all about Sean when he was not yet born (I mean inside your womb)… again thank you…
Love your response to my query, thank you so much for your work. You’re absolutely right about love.
Yoko, God bless you, love nessus
Yoko, one day I drove through Florida and felt incredibly sad, for no apparent reason, later, I found out Nam June Paik had died, how did you feel on that day? do you remember?
Yes. I felt sad. He was a good friend. yoko
Love your work Yoko !!!
Yoko, do you believe in “an eye for an eye”? those who kill should be killed in return or anything like that?
No. Watch this.
Thank you Yoko for taking the time to answer these questions. Your ideas inspire me.
