Happy Birthday Yoko! How do you like to spend your birthday? You know, whatever you do it’ll be perfect, much love t ♥
I am getting a birthday party arranged by Sean. Sean sent me a valentine’s day card when he was five years old with not just one heart but seven hearts all lined up. That’s how he was from when he was a child. John and I were always shy about doing things like that. But I will go to it because it is his hearts…. yoko

Frankan Bennici
Are you happy? How is Kyoko and Sean? Do you still paint?

I am painting in my mind always. Sean and Kyoko are probably doing their own.

Paul Johnson
Yoko, do you feel that there is any relation with your concept of Bagism and the idea of the faceless communication that we often have on the internet? With the ability for one to literally cast their physical self as whoever they choose in terms of identity is it a real world example of how we all can communicate in a classless world more effectively?

There will always be differences of people, because of their different desires. I pray that we will have a world that will accomoddate all our differences.

Starfish DelNorte
Is there a place beyond language and culture that unites all of us?

Our heartbeats.

Mary Mcglashon
I love your work and your style – always have – What music inspired you most as as a young girl and which books?

I was into classical literature of the West and the East, and classical music of the same.

Leona Goto
Dear Yoko, What inspired you to named your book Grapefruit? Grapefruit just so happens to be my favorite fruit since forever! One day I was rummaging through the local library, and found a book succinctly labeled “Grapefruit”. I opened it, and voila! That is basically that is how I discovered you (I thought it was the most magical twist of fate that my favorite fruit led to you…). Happy birthday to an amazing soul!

Thank you for letting me know how you came about to GRAPEFRUIT! yoko

Do you believe that if everyone on the planet truly set the intention for peace, we can achieve it? Creating our reality through environmental cosmic consciousness? If so, how can we deliver this message to everyone?

I’m trying. We should all try in our own way. Lots of love, yoko

Johnny Logan
This may have been asked before. What do you eat more than any other food? What is your favorite food? Hope you have a wonderful birthday.

I have been a macrobiotic for ages now almost vegetarian because I don’t get joy eating slaughtered animals… and now I am trying a gluten-free diet, which seems to be very good for me. By the way, I am not allergic to anything. You don’t have to be allergic to anything to get on the gluten free diet.

James Reynolds
is “yes” still the answer?

Yes!

Yoko! How r u gonna spend yr birthday? I was born on February too, the 25. And Happy birthday! Wish u another great year
I’m already starting to look forward to my 80th. It’s only twelve months away, right?! Amazing. yoko

Jeffrey Katrencik @JeffKatrencik
What’s your favorite sandwich Yoko?

The one that does not make you eat the bread with it! I’m trying the Gluten free diet now… I just scrape the inside I like.

Madeleine. @MadiJonesCasey
how do you think we should stop ourselves having negative and sad thoughts? You must have done this a lot <3 you’re so strong

I can’t help it. I do have sad and negative thoughts. But when I do, I try to save myself from drowning in it. Sometimes you have to go on for a bit. That’s when you should remember to not hate yourself. After all, we are all human, right? Sadness is a teaching to make you wiser. I wish you a great year. yoko

Nina @Say_Lady
when I give my class presentation about your work 2 share Peace&Love w/the universe – do u have a special message I can pass along?

Love yourself. All of us are lovable.

Sarah Athanas @sarahathanas
Do you think the internet and socal media makes us more connected to one another or more removed?

It all depends on how you deal with it.

Sydney Tessler @SydneyTessler
In what moment of the day do you feel most at peace and why?

I feel at peace most of the time. Because I have so much work to do. Work is what saves me from negative emotions.

Skye Scott @SkyeBluuue
Have you any original but do-able ideas for my end-of-school dance dress?

Wear something you feel proud and comfortable at the same time.

Talia Greenberg @TaliaG28
I’m a really quiet person, I don’t talk much, do u think this is okay? People tend to ignore me, like I don’t exist.

So you are an introvert. That’s not bad at all. Do work you cannot do when you have too many people around you. All writers wrote their books when they were alone. When you go to a book shop and see the books on the shelves, think of the loneliness they used for their benefit.

Steven Gaydos @HighSierraMan
As an artist of great impact yourself, how do you assess Andy Warhol’s impact on art and culture?

I think he was giving a good laugh to the world. Sense of humor is not a trademark of art you see in museums. So it’s good that he challenged the art world with his humor.

Jenny @Jen_OoooOoOoOo
Hello! While attending Sarah Lawrence did you take a class or attend a lecture of Joseph Campbell’s? Many Blessings x

I once sat in it. But I didn’t register to be in his class. He was so popular amongst girls, I felt that I needed a more quiet environment to do my work.

Joseph Martin john is a light that will never go out for all you need is love will continue to feed this light
he was a poet, songwriter, composer, a father, a champion for peace but most of all he was just a man. unlike paul m. he could feel and write a…bout pain and longing and reach the depths of dispair and somehow it was beautiful Help i need somebody, so i sing a song of love for julia, mother you had me but i never had you, women you understand the little child inside a man, i was dreaming in the past and my heart was beating fast, if you want money for people with minds that hate all i can tell you brother you’ll have to wait, war is over if you want it, no need for greed or hungar a brotherhood of man,but most of all IN MY LIFE I LOVE YOU MORE
happy birthday john you are loved and i and millions more will miss you

  5. Felipe says:

Yoko, your message is beautiful and we still believe in Peace.

Here in South America we fight everyday for our beliefs, our ideals, our peace motives and for the beauty of life.

Sometimes is very hard to swim against the currents, against over consumption, against the media, against the powerful and their money.

But when i saw you and your willpower to keep screaming for peace and love for everyone, i feel alive now and i’ll keep yelling and working to build a better world for us all.

    Thank you Yoko. Mata ne!

    Felipe Nadeau.
