“A Tradition in our family” by Kári Tulinius, Reykjavik Grapevine Airwaves. I did not know what to expect from tonight’s lineup. Essentially it was Plastic Ono Band and various sub-voltrons thereof. I was afraid the gig would be hermetic and insular. People playing for their friends. This could not have been further from the truth. This [...]

Reading the lyrics after so many years made me choke up. NOW OR NEVER! It works now. The lines “Are we gonna keep shooting the ones that try to change, Are we gonna keep thinking it won’t happen to us” were hard to read. When I wrote those lines, John and I were a proud and happy couple, believing that it would make a difference to speak out. And I think it did. I didn’t know that John was the one who would be shot to death for trying to change… But they couldn’t kill him. His spirit is still alive and growing inside all of us. yoko

Saturday – The night was hot! The whole audience gave a standing ovation to Lady Gaga from the minute she appeared on the stage to when her turn was over. And that is saying a lot. That meant people were standing through the long, long songs – THE SUN IS DOWN and IT’S BEEN VERY HARD. It’s a record! At the end of IT’S BEEN VERY HARD, Lady Gaga started to play the piano with her high heel shoes, and I went up on the top of the piano and started jamming lying down. Right away, Lady Gaga climbed up on the piano right next to me, and two of us jammed, in tune, of course. I am sure the audience would never forget this night… You can say that two of us came from one clay…. yoko
